On Taste

Pretty desserts can make peoples' eyes open so big and excited.
From your first bite to your last, your eyes should continue getting bigger as well as your smile…

Desserts are supposed to be delicate, decadent and delightful!  There's nothing worse than pigging out on sugar that doesn't make you say "mmm yumm".

These desserts are simple but they will satisfy your cravings …

personalize it...

just for you

I’ve never been the person that you would call has sweet tooth, but I started baking because I love celebrations, events, gatherings, making wonderful memories and most of all, putting the biggest smile on a peoples' faces, while eating my creation.

It all began when my mum-in-law made some profiteroles in the UK.  My husband and I were going over to his friends’ house for New Years’ Eve, and I thought… let’s make something homemade and bring over to their place.  We’ve commissioned my mum-in-law to teach me how to make these ever so delicious, decadent and worth every calorie profiteroles… and the rest was history!

Ever since then, I started taking interests in baking… started off making the same profiteroles at home… first few attempts were definitely sad and hilarious at the same time, but a lot of fun making with my best friend.  They were nowhere near as tasty and pretty as my mum-in-law’s but we decorated them to death to make up for everything else. Happy to say, I’m able to make them as good as the original one now.

The love for mango then entered the scene, and started to make these silky, velvety and super moreish mango mousse cakes.  My friends fight over them and it’s a definite hit wherever and whenever.

Girlfriends started getting married… the in thing of “everything homemade” started becoming a fad… so two of my sweet girlfriends decided that my tiramisu shot glasses were “a must” in their wedding, of course…it’s a wedding, everything must have alcohol, *winks*, I’d like to think they were tasty not because of the booze, but because they were made with love…

Finally, everything French was awesome… Patisserie, Boulangerie, Ganache… well truth is, it kinda is, that’s when, French Macarons came to my life… they were soooo cute, and if done right, so tasty…  Started making them as well, and one of my closest girlfriend started buying them in bulk for edible wedding favors, so I finally said…

Sugar it is… created Asukal Cakes and Desserts.

Not just a phase...

home made

Everyone calling their company sweet confections or sweet shop, but decided to stick true to my roots, what makes every dessert sweet… Sugar!

Asukal is the direct translation of Sugar in my home country.

home made goods isn't just a phase, it's a culture. everything now a days can be made fast and oversized. cakes made by mass production, doesn't taste as good as the cake made by a baker that gave his/her full attention on that single work of art.
